Operating tilt and turn windows and doors

Operating tilt and turn windows correctly is crucial to preventing potential hardware damage, ensuring their long-lasting performance and functionality.

Operate tilt and turn windows and doors by adjusting the handle positions for three sash positions:

  • closed – handle pointing down,
  • open inward – handle pointing horizontally, and
  • tilted – handle pointing up.

Ensure the handle is set at precise 90-degree angles to avoid malpositioning and potential damage to the windows and /or doors.

Refer to the symbols below for visual guidance on handle positions and their corresponding sash positions.
